The Power of Education Inside & Outside the Classroom

Last November, 324 grades K-5, Coolidge Elementary School students were treated to a Mobile Dairy Classroom presentation courtesy of the Dairy Council of California.

The program integrates Language Arts, Math, and Science as well as providing a visually stimulating experience that allows for students to get up close and personal with the cow as well as local agriculture ambassadors. This furthers students’ understanding of how milk is processed from cow to container.

In the Primary presentation, students learned new vocabulary, anatomy of a cow, how milk goes from the cow to the refrigerator, and the importance of agriculture and a healthy diet and exercise. In the Intermediate presentation, in addition to the above, students discovered the ruminant digestive system and the agricultural technology used in the making of different foods from milk.

Providing students with hands on learning experiences inside & outside of the classroom? We say YES!!
