Why Do You Support SEF?
In the summer of 2017, I participated in SEF’s Kids Fitness Expo. As a physical therapist, I had a great time interacting with SGUSD parents and their children and helping with movement analysis for kids and parents with injury. I am passionate about giving children the best opportunity to thrive and become well-round individuals, and being part of that experience made me realize how important it is to get involved. Supporting education is not just about academics, it’s also about supporting our children’s growth and learning and addressing factors that contribute to their learning.
I support SEF to help with programs that optimize kids’ learning experience with literature, music, art, physical and mental health, life skills, and academics that otherwise may not be covered by public funding.
What is Your Favorite Memory from School?
In 4th and 5th grade, I had a teacher named Mr. Estrada and he taught us Spanish songs and games, Ceilito Lindo, La Cucaracha, and Ambo Sado Matarile, respectively. It was my first exposure to learning a different language and culture, and I was intrigued. This experience contributed to me learning Spanish and appreciating other languages and cultures.
What do You Do in Your Free Time?
I look forward to spending time with my family and being outdoors. I love to travel and see new places. I love music and dance, so I hope to incorporate that back into my own life.
