San Diego Zoo Global is offering eight weeks of free online courses, now through May 24th, for middle and high school students who are studying from home during this health crisis
The courses are designed to be completed by students in about one to two hours and include video, images and quizzes to teach students about animals.
The first week of free online courses began with an overview of cats and lessons on cheetahs, lions and tigers. Following weeks will focus on mammals, monkeys, primates, bears, birds, reptiles, monotremes and marsupials.

The program, offered 5 days a week, has provided engaging and interactive lesson plans surrounding multiple disciplines in the arts. Students have been singing, dancing, acting, and creating together. We have seen characters come to life, diction and public speaking skills improve, and smiles that have brightened our days.
SEF’s goal is to provide a quality online enrichment program where students have the ability to participate equally; gain confidence in their abilities and talents through the process; develop an appreciation for music, theater and dance and to feel encouraged to aim for higher levels of performance and education in the arts.

Monday-Friday, Now through May 15th, 3:00 – 3:50pm
Students must register online through PopRock Academy to access the free programming; once registered you will receive an email directly from PopRock Academy with instructions on how to access the daily sessions
Space is limited: first come; first served (daily)
Classes are open to elementary students in the San Gabriel community as well as surrounding communities and are not exclusive to San Gabriel public school students.
