It’s Giving Tuesday!

It’s Giving Tuesday across the country – Let’s celebrate the season of giving and make it count for SEF!

After Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, there’s Giving Tuesday! Giving Tuesday kicks off the season of giving with a day dedicated to giving back to non profit organizations. In this spirit, I encourage you to share our message with those in your personal and professional networks so they may consider a year end gift to the foundation.

Gifts to the Foundation, regardless of the amount, helps us continue our mission of providing support to all of the students in our schools. The Foundation needs your support during our year end push as we move to shape our students’ experiences, empowering them for scholastic achievement, personal growth and successful futures. A reminder – all gifts received by December 31 are tax-deductible for 2013.

Fund the Gap 2012–2013 Update

RSVP 6/30/13.  Thanks to caring friends like you, this year we’ve served over 5,000 students, supplied many diverse programs and provided countless hours of enrichment to all our SGUSD schools.

We know you’re in the middle of last-minute summer preparations, but may we take just a moment to share something of great importance with you? This year has been one of our busiest ever, yet we are still not quite at our $150,000 annual fundraising goal. Our fiscal year ends on June 30th, when we must commit to which programs we will be capable of funding next year, 2013-2014.

In the midst of the busyness of school-end activities and summer prep, we hope you’ll make a special gift to San Gabriel Educational Foundation to help all the children in our community. If you have not had a chance to donate, or are able to donate again, your end-of-school-year gift is vital to our success in funding programs for next year.

As a loyal parent, friend, grandparent of San Gabriel Educational Foundation, your support will make a real difference to our children next fall.

With Gratitude,

The SEF Board

Phone-A-Thon Thanks

In November, with the help and support of approximately 170 volunteers, SEF held its 3rd Annual Phone A Thon.  This years program was an incredible success securing over $16,000 in pledges from the families in our school communities.

The funds raised will go towards our current “Fund the Gap” Campaign in support of program planning for the 2013-2014 school year.  We would like to thank the many volunteers, including school board members, district administrators/staff, PTAs/PEPs/PTSA presidents, teachers, principals, and over 100 student volunteers from Interact, FBLA, Speech & Debate, Mock Trial and more) who selflessly gave of their time, talent and financial support on behalf of all of the students in the district.  Together we can make a difference!!
