1st Annual Community Event a Great Success!
The SEF Board of Directors wishes to express its sincere appreciation to all those who participated in this year’s “Dinner and a Movie Night”. We would especially like to thank the approximate 300 attendees who were able to gather with us on Friday evening to enjoy an event filled with food, friendship and an exciting movie, all in support of the foundation and our community.
Thank you to the businesses who added to the success of the event through generous donations – especially Shakey’s Pizza and Super A Foods.
Additionally, the evening would not have been possible without the endless support of our incredibly dedicated group of adult and youth volunteers who continue to inspire us, and of course the endless support received from our district partners at the SGUSD.
We invite you to feel the excitement of celebration and hope of youth and families in our community at our next event!

Congratulations to our JMS Mock Trial Team!
Congratulations to our JMS Mock Trial Team for winning 2nd place in the Constitutional Rights Foundation Annual Mock Trial Program. The program was created to help students acquire a working knowledge of our judicial system, develop analytical abilities and communication skills, and gain an understanding of their obligations and responsibilities as participating members of our society. This years team, consisting of 29 middle school students, competed against 53 schools in Los Angeles County to finish in 2nd place. Jefferson Middle School was the only public school in the finals amongst the top 8 schools in the competition. Under the incredible leadership of program director, George Carney, our students were well prepared once again to represent the district. SEF is proud to support such an amazing program involving both middle and high school students!!
