2013 SEF Summer Academy Program

This summer approximately 714 students participated in the 2013 SEF Summer Academy program. Incoming kindergartners to high school seniors received instruction in a variety of enrichment and get ahead courses on three campuses in our district. We strive to touch the lives of all students in our district and are extremely grateful for the students and their families who chose to participate in our program. We would like to especially thank all of our teachers, staff and volunteers whose hard work, dedication and commitment to academic excellence in our community made the SEF summer program such a success.

Together we can make a difference!

Our SEF Summer has begun!

On Monday and Tuesday, with the help of cheerful volunteers, we welcomed close to 700 students from our community to the campuses of Washington Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School and Gabrielino High School. The students were eager and excited to participate in our program.

SEF Summer Academy Scholarship Opportunities

This is an exciting time for the SEF Summer Academy as we continue to plan for another outstanding summer program for the students in our district and those who attend from surrounding communities.  The committee plans to once again ensure our annual scholarship program is a reality, thus assisting hopeful attendees with the opportunity to enjoy our fabulous program.  We need your help…below you will find two ways you can assist the committee in their endeavor to provide support for our students and families:

  • Support the scholarship fund by making a personal donation in any denomination
  • Share this opportunity with all of your friends and family members challenging them to donate and support the fund in support of our youth

As always, I thank you for all you do for our community.  Please feel free to give me a call if you should have
any questions regarding the summer program or would like to discuss the above in further detail.

Best,
Adela Angiuli, Executive Director

Summer Academy 2013 Update

The SEF Summer Academy is just around the corner, and we are excited to offer another session of enriching and educational courses to our students.

Last summer’s teacher, parent and student surveys helped in planning this year’s program, and we are happy to share some of the resulting changes with you: A new elementary school location, later K-8 start times, a middle school break period, more enriching classes, and a diverse selection of high school credit courses with standardized curriculum.
Please join us again for another summer of learning & fun!

SEF Summer Academy Scholarship Information

As the SEF Summer Academy is fast approaching, we believe you will all be excited about an opportunity to provide financial support to our program by means of a donation to our scholarship program. The scholarship program allows SEF to assure that the Summer Academy is affordable to all those who are interested in attending. By making a donation to the scholarship fund we are saying “Welcome” to those who are otherwise unable to attend.

In 2012 SEF provided 34 students with some form of financial assistance which allowed these deserving students the opportunity to attend our well planned program. This year our goal is to increase the number of students we can assist. We can accomplish this goal with help from generous donors like yourself.

We ask that you talk with friends and relatives about making small donations to the scholarship fund. Let them know how their donation will directly touch a students life by giving them the opportunity to attend our program that they may not get otherwise.

Please feel free to give Executive Director Adela Angiuli a call at the office if you should have any questions or would like to discuss the Summer Academy and our Scholarship Program in further detail. Make your contribution today!
